Lyno Newland was given the first name Lyno, as officially recorded on his Montana birth certificate, by his parents Oliver and Helen. Oliver said he had devised the name based upon the Anglicized version of his favorite Scandinavian architect's name. The architect had designed some famous building somewhere in Scandinavia.
